how we started

Meridia began with a simple idea: put farmers—especially smallholders—on the map.

Using tech, data, and local expertise, we set out to help them unlock the true value of their land.

Founders Thomas Vaassen and Simon Ulvund started by asking a big question: how can we help rural families and communities unlock the value of their land? That question took them deep into rural Ghana, Indonesia, and Cote d'Ivoire, working side by side with local experts, communities, and governments to tackle one of the toughest challenges out there—land rights.

Back then, we were called Landmapp. Over time, we evolved into what we are today: an AgTech company helping the global agricultural industry identify and mitigate supply chain risks. From land tenure and mapping to verifying farm data for sustainability and compliance, our work bridges the field and the boardroom.

Our heritage

After more than a decade of mapping and verifying farm data, we understand and appreciate the reality on the ground.

We’ve seen how data can empower farmers, bring visibility to their work, and open doors to finance, security, and growth.

Today, Meridia offers Verify—our SaaS platform that helps food and ag companies assess sourcing and compliance risks in real time. With roots in the field and a product built for global teams, we connect both worlds—helping businesses move toward traceable, trusted, and truly sustainable supply chains.

Meridia today

Today, we are an AgTech software company with global coverage, headquartered in Amsterdam.

Built on our decade of field experience and a rigorous top-tier methodology, we developed Meridia Verify®.

Verify, a SaaS product, verifies supply chain field data against regulatory and voluntary sustainability frameworks in minutes and provides hands-on guidance for risk mitigation. It allows users to instantly identify and mitigate field-data risks across deforestation, data quality and legality.

Procurement and sustainability teams eliminate commercial and reputational risks, prevent supply chain disruptions, and shift from guesswork to confident, evidence-based decisions.
