EUDR v1.13 is live

Brazil legality checks and TRACES-aligned validation

EUDR v1.13 adds Brazil legality checks, updated deforestation maps and alignment with the latest TRACES upload requirements.

Brazil legality checks
Three Brazil-specific checks are now part of the EUDR profile: environmental embargoes, overlap with non-designated public lands, and the forced labour register. The embargo and forced labour checks look up producers by tax ID. You can now add a tax ID for Brazilian records in the portal or through the API.

Updated deforestation maps
The deforestation check now uses updated maps for more origins, based on the latest available data.

Protected areas: Paraguay and Kenya
Enhanced protected areas scoring, including the legal context review and additional attributes already in place for Côte d’Ivoire, is now live for Paraguay and Kenya.

Aligned with TRACES
The EU Information System readiness check now follows the latest TRACES GeoJSON upload requirements, so validation in Meridia matches what TRACES checks.

Also in this release

  • Stricter country boundary check: a plot is either fully inside the country (Low) or crossing or outside the border (Critical).
  • More accurate area and distance calculations, from an updated coordinate reference system for each country.
  • Fewer unnecessary data quality flags, from updated geospatial consistency and farm plausibility checks.

What this means for you

  • No action needed to get the update. Existing Meridia Verify customers get EUDR v1.13 automatically.
  • Sourcing from Brazil? Add producer tax IDs to your Brazilian records. The embargo and forced labour checks need them to run.
  • Uploading to TRACES? Validation in Meridia now follows the same rules as TRACES, so issues show up before you upload.
