DCF v1.03 adds national maps for Mexico and China, Meridia’s own soybean map for Paraguay and updated checks for Brazil.
Mexico and China: national maps
The deforestation and conversion checks now use national datasets instead of global layers: MapBiomas for Mexico and the China Land Cover Dataset (CLCD) for China. Every detection in these countries is now high-confidence. Thresholds are unchanged.
Paraguay: Meridia’s own soybean map
Crop extraction in Paraguay now uses Meridia’s 2025 soybean map (2024/25 season), so the soybean area isolated inside each farm plot should be more accurate. Enhanced protected areas scoring is also now live for Paraguay.
Brazil: buffered geopoints and refreshed legality data
The Brazil-specific deforestation check now assesses geopoints with a buffer: twice the reported farm size, up to 5 ha, or 5 ha if no size is reported. The embargo register, non-designated public lands map and forced labour register have been refreshed.
Also in this release
- Stricter country boundary check: a plot is either fully inside the country (Low) or crossing or outside the border (Critical).
- More accurate area and distance calculations, from an updated coordinate reference system for each country.
- Fewer unnecessary data quality flags, from updated geospatial consistency and farm plausibility checks.
What this means for you
- No action needed to get the update. Existing Meridia Verify customers get DCF v1.03 automatically.
- Sourcing from Mexico or China? Results are based on national data, and every detection is high-confidence.
- Sourcing soy from Paraguay? Crop extraction uses a current-season soybean map built for Paraguay.
